Terms of use

Last updated 18 October 2026

These terms apply to everyone who uses Cucumber, the project system run by Cheyne Developments Ltd (“Cheyne”, “we”), a company registered in England and Wales, number 11786184. By using Cucumber you agree to them. How we use personal information is explained in our privacy policy.

Access

  • Cucumber is by invitation only. We decide who has access, to which projects, and what they can do there.
  • Your access is personal to you. Don't share your sign-in codes, and don't let anyone else use Cucumber as you. Tell us straight away at info@cheyneconstruction.co.uk if you think someone else has signed in as you.
  • We may change or remove your access at any time, for example when a project ends, when you stop working with us, or if these terms are broken.

Using Cucumber

Use Cucumber only for work on Cheyne's projects. Please:

  • keep what you add accurate and relevant to the project;
  • only add information and files you're entitled to share;
  • keep project information confidential: only share it outside Cucumber as your work on the project needs, and not with anyone who shouldn't have it;
  • not upload anything harmful (such as viruses), try to get into parts of Cucumber or information you haven't been given access to, or interfere with how it works;
  • not copy, take apart or reuse Cucumber itself, its design or its code.

Project records and contracts

Cucumber is a place to record and share project information, such as RFIs, instructions and their responses. It doesn't change your contract with us or anyone else. If your contract says how a notice, instruction or claim must be given, it still has to be given that way. A record in Cucumber, or an email from it, isn't a substitute unless the contract says it is.

Responses and files you add become part of the project's records. We keep them as our privacy policy describes, and they may stay after your access ends.

Files

Files attached in Cucumber are stored in Cheyne's Dropbox, and Cucumber keeps a link to them. Anyone with a file's link can open it, so only attach files that are suitable to share with the project team.

Availability

We work to keep Cucumber running and accurate, but we can't promise it will always be available or free of errors. Keep your own records of anything you're required to keep under your contract.

Our responsibility

Cucumber is provided to help with our projects. As far as the law allows, we aren't responsible for losses caused by it being unavailable, or by errors in information others add to it. Nothing in these terms limits our responsibility where the law doesn't allow it to be limited, such as for death or personal injury caused by negligence, or for fraud.

Changes

We may update these terms. If we do, we'll change the date above, and Cucumber will ask you to agree to them again the next time you use it.

The law

These terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, and its courts deal with any dispute about them.
